Ice storm damage in Kiel and Manitowoc, Wisconsin, February 22, 1922.

From February 21-23, 1922, much of eastern Wisconsin was hobbled by a massive ice storm. Snow and freezing rain coated trees, power lines, streets and railroads, cutting off electricity, phone and telegraph service and isolating many cities.

The last image in this set is a postcard showing downed trees in Manitowoc. The sender wrote:

One instance of what the storm’s done. Not a tree in the city that is not damaged, our beautiful cemetery is a wreck. It would make you weep.
