Dolphin Club Swimmers, Madison, 1960.
It’s not entirely clear what these UW-Madison swimmers are up to (a co-ed synchronized swimming competition?), but they look to be dressed for a performance, with the men in collars and bow ties and the women in elbow-length gloves.

Women and men posing at Rohn’s Swimming School, Milwaukee.
Wisconsin may not be know for its sandy beaches, but swimming is still a favorite summer pastime here. This mixed group of bathers at Rohn’s Swimming School look to be having a grand time on the banks of the Milwaukee River. Julius W. Rohn, a Bohemian immigrant, established the school in 1856 at the area of deep water in the river above the North Avenue dam. Thousands of Milwaukeeans learned to swim at this popular spot.
